Ariel Thorsen is content with her family life and her profession as a college physics professor. She meets Kiernan O’Shay at a dinner celebrating her mother’s promotion to a junior executive in Stellardyne. Ariel is impressed by Kiernan’s interest in physics and spaceships. She also finds Kiernan attractive. One week after the dinner, Kiernan offers monetary wealth to Ariel if she enters into a marriage agreement and bears Kiernan an heir. Ariel is appalled by the offer. She’s not for sale, believing love should bind two people together—not the promise of wealth.
But when Kiernan accuses Ariel’s mother of corporate espionage, Ariel feels she has no choice but to accept Kiernan’s marriage proposal on the condition that no charges are brought against her mother.

It's Sci-Fi, a steamy romance, an adventure and a story with a touch of humor. It was riveting, exciting and gripping. There is misunderstanding, miscommunication, cultural differences but Kiernan and Ariel also had a lot in common. I found myself being drawn into Kiernan. At times she was a real bitch but she also has a very sensitive side. It was wonderful watching their growing attraction and the passion between them was palpable and so hot. There were a lot of surprises in the plot as the story unfolded. The author did a superb job in her description of Celeste and the other ships. She did it without overwhelming technical details. Overall, an excellent story with strong characters and definitely a must read. You are missing out a lot if you don't give it a read.Product details

I enjoyed this book immensely. It truly a lesbian romance story. I love the characters and how the author chose to develop and unraveled their story.

This is a great story I was hooked from the beginning.I enjoyed every word on every page.
You have attraction, loathing, intrigue , treachery, adventure and romance all in one story. Add to that space travel and near death experience and you get one hell of a great read.
Sci fi is not usually what I read but this was chosen by my book club. I certainly am glad they picked this one! It has a sweet love story and just when you think the story is complete the author throws a curve ball. This book is beautifully written and I was actually disappointed it was over when I finished.
This story is terrific. All the previous comments are true and I can't add anything more but if you like futuristic stories with a great romance, this book is perfect. Enjoy!
I loved the sci-fi perspective of this novel. Nothing is more enticing than being placed in a new setting where the imagination can take off to places without limits. The author did a fantastic job of transporting me to such new territory. There was a particular scene in the beginning, when they were journeying into outer space, that is etched in my mind for good. The descriptions were so vivid that I felt as if I was standing right there next to these two fascinating characters catching an exciting glimpse into their world. Linda North did an incredible job with developing these characters and teasing me along on a journey that I did not want to end. Highly recommend!
Kiernan, a recovering womanizer and an extraordinarily wealthy brilliant business owner, is decreed to marry and have a child by age 40 if ever to gain the necessary stake in her company to launch (literally) her ultimate dreams. Ariel becomes the natural focus of her attentions. What begins as a harmless business proposition develops into love. The author does a wonderful job creating a slow burn budding love affair between the two main characters. It also is refreshing that the science fiction aspect of the book does not overshadow the romantic character development. Unlike in her book Deep Merge, the author does not fade to black in the critical intimate scenes that work to depict the evolving love affair. I especially appreciate that the book fast forwards a few years at end to tighten the conclusion perfectly. I enjoyed this book for the romance, sensuality, science-fiction and character development. I might add that one still can enjoy it fully even if not a fan of science fiction. That element does not overpower the story frame and only works to establish the plot and character development.
